Every note up to the 15th fret; the root (E♭) is coloured. It sits on fret 11 of the low E string and fret 6 of the A string, the two usual starting points.
E♭ blues is E♭, G♭, A♭, B𝄫, B♭ and D♭. Spelled as a flat fifth, the blue note is B𝄫 (B double flat), which sounds the same as A, so the open A string gives it to you. Flat keys like E♭ are common in blues bands with horns, and on guitar box 1 starts at the 11th fret.
The E flat blues scale has six notes: E♭ – G♭ – A♭ – B𝄫 – B♭ – D♭. It is the E flat minor pentatonic plus one note, B𝄫: the blue note, between A♭ and B♭, which gives it the blues sound.
Tip: Under an E♭7 groove, walk up the low E string from the A♭ at the 4th fret through the blue note at the 5th to the B♭ at the 6th.
