Frequently asked questions

How many syllables should a lyric line have?

There is no fixed number. Lines sung to the same melody should have similar counts and stresses; in a repeating verse, matching lines usually stay within one or two syllables of each other.

Why does the counter say 2 when I sing 1?

Sung syllables stretch and merge: "fire" can be one or two, "every" two or three. Type fi-re or fire=1 to tell the counter how you sing it.

Does it store my lyrics?

No. Counting happens in your browser and nothing is saved or sent. Copy the result if you want to keep it.
